Advertising helps keep The Plano Brief free. These are the rules that keep it honest.

Ads are always labeled

Every ad on the site and in the newsletter is clearly marked as advertising. We do not disguise ads as articles.

Advertisers do not shape coverage

Buying an ad does not buy coverage, and it does not change how we report on a business. Our newsroom decisions are made independently.

What we accept

We welcome local businesses, events, nonprofits, and services that serve Plano. Every ad request is reviewed by a person before it runs.

What we do not accept

• Political or issue advertising
• Ads that are misleading, discriminatory, or unlawful
• Adult content, tobacco or vaping products, or gambling
• Ads that impersonate another business or a news story
